The College of DuPage women's basketball team opened its home schedule on Nov. 2, falling to Marian Ancilla College, 64-55, at the Physical Education Center in Glen Ellyn.
The Chaparrals carried a four-point advantage into halftime, leading 47-43 after an offensive first half. However, Marian Ancilla rallied in the second half, outscoring DuPage 21-8 over the final two quarters to come away with the nine-point victory.
Ayaani Gusman led the Chaparrals with 16 points, adding four rebounds and five assists. Lila Prindeville followed with 12 points, shooting 3-for-6 from the field and connecting on two 3-pointers while going a perfect 4-for-4 at the free-throw line.
Erin Brown contributed nine points and led DuPage on the glass with 11 rebounds, including eight on the offensive end. Shea Carver added eight points and seven rebounds, while Taleah Banner finished with three points, four rebounds and three assists.
Despite the loss, the Chaparrals showed offensive balance in the opening half before Marian Ancilla's second-half surge proved to be the difference.
DuPage will look to bounce back when it hosts Wilbur Wright College on Nov. 5 at the Physical Education Center. Tipoff is scheduled for 5 p.m. The Chaparrals defeated the Rams 81-41 in their previous meeting at COD last season.
