Marshalltown 60, Chaps 47

Jaylen Zachary and Teegan Roach each scored nine points, but a key stretch in the second quarter cost College of DuPage in a 60-49 loss to non-region Marshalltown (Iowa) Community College in women's basketball Saturday afternoon.

The loss drops COD to 3-5 overall as it enjoys Thanksgiving break until Dec. 3 when the Chaps play host to College of Lake County.

COD controlled the early going and led 20-14 with 4:32 left in the second quarter. The Tigers responded with a 12-0 run and effectively ended the game in their favor. They led by as many as 18 in the fourth quarter.

Roach led in rebounds with 13 and Makenna Brown grabbed 10 — all on the defensive end.

Brown, Autumn Rohde and Cailey Salerno followed with six points each.

Nala Taylor dealt four assists.
