The Chaparrals placed three members on this year's All-Region 4 honors squad, in a vote among region coaches.
 
Earning accolades were sophomores Alyssa Basford, Sabrina Cox and freshman Mariel Lara for head coach Matt Hanna's program.
 
The Chaps finished the season 7-8-3 overall and earned their first Region 4 tourney berth since 2016. COD had its season end at Rock Valley, which went on to win the regional crown and reached the NJCAA championship in Huntsville, Ala.

"Absolutely thrilled to have all three on the all-region team as each is well deserving. All three were so consistent. They were mature players who you can count on. The three of them together created a triangle where we could build the team around them.
 
"Alyssa was a true leader for us. She fought through injuries while here at COD. She put her body on the line and defended with an incredible amount of determination. She was a captain who led by example.
 
"Sabrina played her center back position very well. She plays under control and calm on the ball. She reads defensive and covers the back line at what is her most natural position. She knows when to step and knows when to cover.
 
"Mariel is an very good player on the ball with excellent vision. She was pretty much the main reason for our attack who generated lots of goal scoring opportunities.''
