Sophomore
Josh Kubicki, who led the Chaparrals in goals, points, shots, and shots on goal in their inaugural season of lacrosse, was named to the NJCAA All-American team, it was announced this week.
Â
Kubicki, a Naperville native, scored 25 goals, totaled 30 points with 48 shots and 26 shots on goal to lead the Chaps, who finished 5-4 overall and reached the North Atlantic District title game in Garden City, N.Y. in April.

Coach Bill Sanford says
"We are thrilled to have Josh become the first all-American chosen to represent College of DuPage. All three of our nominees (
Michael Olas and
Lorenzo Digiacinto) were significant contributors to our first-year success and we thank them for helping bring our program to life and, more impressively, to a place where we can compete with the outstanding teams on our schedule. Josh has athletic traits that are hard to teach — first-step quickness, physicality on his dodges, fearlessness, and a quick release on his shot that led him to be our leading goal scorer. But what does not show up in the box score or on film is his practice demeanor. He wants to win every rep. He treats every drill like the national championship game and has developed a confidence in himself that all winners possess. He is deserving of this tremendous honor and we are excited to see where his career goes from here."
