Burnett in charge at Oakton

All-American Ivy Burnett led the way during Friday's play at the Oakton Invite, played in Northbrook.

Burnett fired an 89, 11 strokes in front of Rock Valley's Maddy Johnson.

Teammates Aubreye Hyatt (101) and Danielle Murphy (111) competed for the Chaps.

The eight-woman field played at the par-70, 5,607-yard Heritage Oaks Golf Course.

Teams represented: COD, Rock Valley, Oakton and Kishwaukee.

"The girls women played through heat and wet conditions, a change from the conditions we've been playing in,'' head coach Jason Hyatt said. "All three played well, and we still have room to grow. We'll get after it again this week.''

The Chaps return to play this Friday and Saturday at Millikin University in Decatur.
