Hyatt's eagle caps two-day tourney

Freshman Aubrye Hyatt fired a two-day, 36-hole 202 as COD's women's golf team competed in the Dechert Challenge, hosted by Millikin College in Decatur on Friday and Saturday.

Hyatt carded rounds of 97 and 105 on the par-72, 5,618-yard Southside Country Club.

Teammate Danielle Murphy carded an opening-round 113 before withdrawing.

COD concludes its fall season Tuesday at Joliet's Clash at the Creek.

"We persevered through weather conditions that weren't ideal,'' head coach Jason Hyatt said. "A great opportunity to play through those conditions and learn from it. Aubreye earned an eagle during the opening round, holing out a two on a par-4, from 129 yards with an 8-iron. We have a little bit of time to work on a few things and get ready to go for Joliet.''

Her eagle was the only one of the tourney.
