Logsdon logs another NJCAA honor

A second consecutive week of excellence in the 400 hurdles paid off yet again as sophomore All-American Ellie Logsdon is the NJCAA Athlete of the Week for April 23.

The Genoa native established a school record in her event at Thursday's Don Church Twilight at Wheaton College, winning and running the event in 1 minute and 1.71 seconds, breaking the record of 1:02.72 set by Elizabeth Hanses in 2002.

It is the second straight week that Logsdon has won the weekly award for both the NJCAA and the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Logsdon is the reigning 200 meters and 400 hurdles national champion. She holds the top times in the NJCAA Division III in the 100, 200, 400, 400 hurdles, and has run a leg on the fastest 4 x 100 relay.

The Chaparrals compete Friday in their regular-season finale at Elmhurst.
