Sophomore sprinter
Ellie Logsdon dominated NJCAA Division III this spring, capped by her winning three individual championships and running legs on winning sprint relays for the title-winning Chaparrals.
Her efforts were not unnoticed as she was named the 2025 United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCA) D3 Female Track Athlete of the Year.
The Genoa native ran away from the competition at the national championship May 8-10 in Utica, N.Y. She won the 100 (12.47 seconds), 400 (57.85), 400 hurdles (65.60) and ran on the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays.
Those five titles resulted in five first-team All-American honors and helped the Chaps win their first team title in three seasons and seventh in school history.
Earlier this season, she established a school-record 61.71 effort in the 400 hurdles, believed to be the fastest time in the event since the NJCAA recognized Division III track and field more than 30 years ago.
Her two seasons included 11 All-American honors and eight titles — the five this season and the 200, 400 hurdles and running on the championship 4 x 100 relay in 2024.
