The Chaps, now 6-5 overall, earned a split after their 11-4 loss in the opener. They now finish up their nine-game week of play against Danville Community on Friday. First pitch is 9 a.m. EST.
 
Game 1: St. Clair 11, Chaparrals 4
Corey Vondra led the Chaps with a three-run triple and Jack Howard doubled, but it wasn't enough in the opener.
 
Vondra had two of the Chaps' seven hits.
 
Game 2: Chaparrals 5, St. Clair 2
Coach Bobby Wilson's squad led with 10 hits, thanks to Wagner's two triples. The Chaps led 5-0 through six innings in their one-sided victory.
 
Wagner, Cam Steffens and Kyle Ferguson each had two hits. Simon Marinelli, Peter Sedlacek and T.J. Jaros each doubled.
 
On the hill, Kolten Kapusinski threw three shutout innings with a pair of strikeouts. Matt Anderson did not allow a run in his two innings.
