The College of DuPage baseball team hosted a trio of home contests against Region IV opponents over the weekend of April 9, 10, and 12.
DuPage opened the stretch on April 9 against Morton College, falling 7-5 in a tightly contested matchup. The Chaparrals rallied to tie the game 5-5 in the bottom of the seventh inning after Cullen Kleinsasser launched a home run to center field. However, Morton responded with a run in both the eighth and ninth innings to secure the win. JD Cumbee and Devin Kraft each recorded two hits for DuPage. On the mound, Carson Miller struck out five batters over three innings, while Landon Carter and Carter Laubinger each added multiple strikeouts in relief.
On April 10, DuPage dropped a narrow 5-4 decision to Olive-Harvey College in Glen Ellyn. The Chaparrals took a one-run lead in the third inning and later tied the game at 3-3 in the sixth following an Andrew Speh double. Olive-Harvey regained control with a two-run home run in the seventh inning and held on despite a late push from DuPage. Speh and Wilson Terrutty led the offense with two hits apiece. Alex Ingram recorded five strikeouts across four innings, while Luke Fordonski added four strikeouts in three innings of work.
The weekend concluded on April 12 with a 10-7 loss to Harper College. DuPage erased an early 3-0 deficit with a three-run home run from Hudson Williams to tie the game. Harper responded quickly and maintained control throughout the middle innings. Trailing 9-3 in the eighth, the Chaparrals mounted a late rally. Matthew Betancourt drove in a run on a fielder's choice, and Rocco Luciano followed with a two-run double to right field to cut into the deficit. Morton added another run in the ninth to seal the contest. Williams and Speh each collected two hits in the contest, while Nick Konopiots and Max Kalish each struck out three batters on the mound.
