Brown leads the way

Box Score Freshman Makenna Brown scored a season-best 23 points and the Chaps played a more inspired game in Thursday's 68-54 loss at Joliet in Region 4 women's play.
 
The Chaps, now 2-8 and 0-2 in the N4C, return home Tuesday night against Madison. Tipoff is 5 p.m.
 
Brown is averaging 15.5 points a game and has scored at least 19 points in four of COD's 10 games.
 
COD outscored the Wolves 34-32 in the middle quarters, but got off to a slow start after trailing 18-10 through the opening quarter. Joliet outscored COD 18-10 in the fourth.
 
Mykah Berkompas added 12 for the Chaps and Korriana Wilson was next with seven.
 
Former Chap Nichele Lodree scored four points for the Wolves.
