The Chaparrals concluded their 2022 Fall season Thursday afternoon, winning their DuPage Invite triangular with freshman
Sam Sager earning medalist honors.
Â
COD fired a 320 total (32-over par) and won despite a lightning delay and strong winds at the par-72, 6,856-yard yard Cantigny course in Winfield.
Â
Sager fired a 3-over 75 and won by four strokes over Rock Valley's Jarrett van Briesen for his first collegiate victory.
Sam Faulhaber was next for COD with an 80, followed by
Hagan Rank (82),
Tyler Cunningham (93) and James Miscione (90).
Â
Playing as individuals were:
Eric Peterson (90) and
John Lilly (104).
Madison was second, seven shots behind the Chaps. Rock Valley third (332).

Coach Jason Hyatt says
"We fought through distractions and stayed focused and determined.  We found our way through to the end with strong winds and falling temperatures.  Sam played extremely well, firing a 1-under par 35 on the front nine and finished with a strong par on his last hole.  We're really proud of Sam, he fought hard today.  As for the team, a great way to finish off the fall season with a victory and carry momentum into the offseason.  Thanks to women's teammate Skylar Jollette, team manager Tommy Surdyk and former Chap All-American
Jack Turner for their help and support of the team today. Having parents, friends, grandparents and even a COD professor out supporting the guys as well shows the effect these guys have on others. Assistant Coach Rob and myself are excited to continue to build on this already great foundation.
