The College of DuPage men's golf team traveled to Jamestown, New York from June 2–5 to compete in the 2026 NJCAA Division III Golf Championships, hosted at the historic Chautauqua Golf Club. For the fifth consecutive season, the Chaparrals brought home a third-place national finish, edging Georgia Military College by just one stroke in a dramatic finish.
"The men played outstanding this week," said head coach Jason Hyatt. "When I put this team together in the fall, this was the scoring I was expecting. It took a little bit longer, but they scored when it counted. I'm so proud of the way they handled themselves under pressure and couldn't be happier for them."
Leading the way for DuPage was sophomore Nathan Kwiatkowski, who placed fourth nationally after finishing +6 across the four-round championship. Kwiatkowski delivered a standout performance in round three, carding a 4-under-par 68 — tying a College of DuPage national tournament record and finishing four strokes below par. His performance earned him NJCAA All-American honors.
"Nathan proved to be one of the best in DuPage history with his record-tying 4-under-par 68 in Round 3," Hyatt said.
DuPage surged into contention on day three, posting a program-best national championship team round of 289 (+1), positioning the Chaparrals for a podium finish.
"The guys all had their own goals, but collectively we took it one hole, one round at a time," Hyatt said. "They stuck with the game plan and put themselves in position on Day 3 with a national DuPage record team score of 289."
Kyrin Abella also earned All-American honors after finishing tied for 17th at +16. After sitting at +15 through the opening two rounds, Abella found his rhythm late in the tournament, shooting a combined +1 over rounds three and four to climb the leaderboard.
Patrick Davis secured DuPage's third All-American finish, placing 18th overall at +17. Davis' best round came on June 3, when he carded a 1-over-par 73.
Matt Sims narrowly missed All-American recognition, finishing tied for 20th at +18. Sims posted his best round in round three with a 2-over-par 74.
Jack Boehmke rounded out the Chaparrals' lineup with a 26th-place finish at +24, highlighted by a third-round 75 (+3).
"All of the guys stepped up this week," Hyatt added. "Kyrin, Matt, Patrick and Jack all had their rounds that put us in good shape. This was definitely a TEAM finish."
The Chaparrals' third-place result marks the fifth straight year DuPage has finished third at the national championship, continuing one of the most consistent runs in NJCAA Division III golf.
