Men's Golf battles at Randal Oaks G.C. to start spring campaign

The College of DuPage men's golf team opened its 2026 spring season with a trip to Randall Oaks Golf Club on April 6. The Chaps finished 13th out of 22 teams in a field that included both junior college and university competition.

Nathan Kwiatkowski turned in the top performance for DuPage, shooting a 76 to tie for 12th place.

Chaps head coach Jason Hyatt had high praise for Kwiatkowski, particularly with the top-performing Chap just eight months removed from injury. "I'm really happy for Nathan. He has recovered and battled back and deserves a lot for what he's gone through the last eight months or so," Hyatt said.

Kyrin Abella shot an 81 to finish tied for 44th. Matt Simms carded an 82 to place in a tie for 53rd, while Patrick Davis and Patrick Malm each tied for 96th after shooting 89s.

Hyatt also commented on the team's overall performance. "The guys battled some tough conditions today at the Judson Spring Invite at Randall Oaks GC. Colder temperatures combined with the wind made the course challenging today. Even with the conditions, the guys battled and were glad to be out competing again," said Hyatt. "Overall, we need to stay focused on keeping it simple and not trying to be too cute with our approach shots and short games. This was the first tournament, so we will adjust and move forward."

DuPage will be back on the links April 16-17 when they travel to Homer Glen for the St. Xavier Invite.
