Box Score A seven-run fifth inning was the deciding factor for College of DuPage, which defeated Oakton College 13-7 in a Region IV game of unbeatens that was completed Saturday morning.

The victory places the Chaparrals (27-14 overall) into Sunday's title game where they will again face Oakton, which fought through Saturday's elimination round. A second game will follow should Oakton take the opener.

Jeremy Conforti gave COD a 1-0 lead in the first on a double to right that scored
A.J. Taylor, who led off with a single.
Carson Roberts extended the lead in the second on his two-out single to right that scored
Cliff Vickers, who led off with a single through the right side.

That set-up the prolific fourth. With the game tied at 2-2, COD struck with a seven-run, five-hit attack that put them in command. Carson Robert broke the tie with a bases-loaded single that brought in
Kyle Fenner. Conforti followed with a hit-by-pitch and COD led 4-2.
Jason Cousineau added another RBI hit-by-pitch,  and two batters later, Vickers lined a two-run single to right and COD led 7-2. COD scored two more runs — one on a fielder's choice RBI from
David Marshall and the final when Vickers scored on an error.

COD added a run in the fifth, and the game was put on hold due to darkness with COD leading 10-6 in the top of the eighth.

When play resumed, the Chaps added three runs in the eighth with Roberts supplying a two-run triple to center.

Seth Borden gave the Chaps five inning in his start, striking out five and walking three for the win.
Justin Lane threw two innings of shut-out relief and
Ben Steiner gave up two hits in his two innings to close out the Owls.
