Madeline Maracich earned season-bests of 16 points and 21 rebounds, but visiting McHenry County proved too strong in the second half in COD's 65-56 loss Tuesday night in Region 4 women's basketball.
 
The Chaps, who are 3-8 overall, are at Carl Sandburg on Saturday.
 
COD outplayed the Scots in the first half, holding a 28-24 halftime lead, thanks to hitting eight straight free throws in the first quarter. But the Scots, who outscored the Chaps 30-6 from 3-point land for the game, controlled the second half with a 41-point outburst.
 
Sierra Gibson and Sarah Topps each had nine points for COD.
