Box Score The Chaparrals led from the outset Thursday night, then added an offensive burst in the second half in their 84-52 victory at Harper in Region 4 play.
 
COD improved to 11-12 overall and clinched the top seed in the Region 4 Tournament that begins Feb. 24 in Joliet.
 
All five starters scored in double figures, led by Mykah Berkompas with 20. Sierra Gibson followed with 19, Alyssa Havard 18, Korriana Wilson 12 and Katlyn Allen 11.
 
Both Allen and Havard earned double doubles with 12 and 10 rebounds, respectively.
 
COD held an 18-9 lead through the first quarter, led 32-22 at halftime and then left no doubt in the final 20 minutes. They outscored the Hawks 52-30 in the second half.
 
COD plays host to Kishwaukee on Saturday. Tipoff is noon.
