Chaps go cold late in 77-63 loss

Sierra Gibson and Savannah Anderson combined for 41 points, but visiting Olive-Harvey rallied in the second half and handed the Chaparrals a 77-63 loss in Region 4 women's basketball Thursday night at PEC Arena.

The Chaps, now 4-12 and 4-10 Region 4, are off until Monday afternoon when they take on Elmhurst JV. Tipoff is 1 p.m.

Gibson led with 21 points and Anderson was right behind with 20 as COD led 43-34 at halftime, thanks to its 51.4 percent field goal shooting.

COD built its lead to 13 just one minute into the third, but the Chaps could not maintain the lead and the Panthers took advantage, outscoring COD 43-20 in the final 20 minutes of play.

Sarah Topps added eight points and no other Chap scored more than four points.
