The Chaparrals earned a season sweep over Madison College, owning the lead throughout in a 75-43 victory in Region 4 women's basketball Tuesday night.
 
COD improved to 6-14, 6-11 Region 4 and won its second straight game entering Thursday night's home game against Bryant & Stratton. Tipoff is 5 p.m.
 
Sophomore 
Sierra Gibson led the Chaps with 17 points (7 of 11 FGs,  3 of 3 FTs) and 
Savannah Anderson (12 points) and 
Teegan Roach (10 points) each reached double figures.
 
COD led 13-11 through the first quarter, then built a double-digit lead with five minutes left in the half and never let the lead dip below 10.
 
The Chaps forced 31 WolfPack turnovers and made Madison (1-19, 0-13) pay, holding the edge in points off turnovers (37-3).
 
Megan Martinez, 
Maryssa Woodhouse and 
Sarah Topps each scored seven and 
Nala Taylor added six points.
 
Anderson led in steals with seven and Topps created six.
 
Roach earned a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds with three blocks.
 
COD took the season series, earning its victories with a 32-point average margin of victory
