Savannah Anderson and Megan Martinez each scored 12 points, but the Chaparrals' shooting difficulty proved costly in a 68-58 home loss to Kankakee in Region 4 women's basketball Tuesday night.
 
Sarah Topps (11) and Sierra Gibson (10) also scored in double figures for COD, which takes a 6-16, 6-13 Region 4 into Thursday's home contest against Joliet. Tipoff is 5 p.m.
 
COD was held to 17 percent from the field in the opening half, hitting 8 of 46 field goals and trailing 33-21 at the break. The Chaps played a better second half, outscoring the Cavaliers 37-35, thanks to their 19-8 run over the game's final 4:10.
 
Three Chaps earned double-figure rebound games with Nala Taylor leading the way with 13. Anderson had 12 and Teegan Roach 11.
