Makenna Brown led College of DuPage with 13 points on 6-of-12 shooting, but it wasn't enough as host Black Hawk College led early and defeated the Chaparrals 79-52 in NJCAA Region 4 women's basketball Thursday night.
 
The Chaps (2-2 overall, 2-1 Region 4) is at Waubonsee on Saturday. Tipoff is 1 p.m.
 
Black Hawk earned a double-digit lead in the first quarter, leading 19-9 through the first quarter. The Chaps trailed 37-23 at the break.
 
The Chaps shot 30.3 percent from the field on 20-of-66 shooting with four 3-pointers and hit 8 of 12 from the line.
 
Megan Martinez and Cailey Salerno each scored six points and Autumn Rohde five for COD.
 
Freshman Adriana Villanova grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds in 12 minutes off the bench.
