College of DuPage fell behind Triton in the second quarter and could not catch up in a 56-49 loss in Region 4 women's basketball Tuesday night.
 
The Chaps (2-4, 2-3 Region 4) are home Thursday night against McHenry County (5-1, 5-1). Tip is 5 p.m.
 
Megan Martinez and Teegan Roach each scored 14 points, each season highs. Jaylen Zachary added 13.
 
The Chaps and Trojans were tied at 12 after the opening 10 minutes. But Triton forged ahead for good, outscoring the Chaps 19-8 in the second quarter for a 31-20 halftime lead.
 
Madeline Maracich added four points, and Makenna Brown and Autumn Rohde each scored two.
 
Waubonsee 55, Chaparrals 48
Despite shooting 20 percent from the field on 13-of-65 shooting, the Chaps just missed out on a road victory at Waubonsee on Saturday.
 
Reserve Madison Dubiel led the Chaps with 11 and the only other Chap to score in double figures was Megan Martinez with 10.
 
Zachary added nine points. Brown led with 12 rebounds.

COD trailed 22-20 at halftime and 38-33 after three.
