Home opener goes Lake County's way

COD made its home opener Tuesday afternoon, dropping a 15-3 decision to College of Lake County in Region 4 baseball.

The Chaps, now 3-4 overall, are at Morton on Thursday.

  • The Lancers grabbed the lead for good on Evan Spenk's 3-run homer to center in the first
  • CLC sent 12 batters to the plate in the third, scoring seven runs on six hits
  • Jake Pauley put the Chaps on the scoreboard with a lead-off homer to right in the fifth
  • Matt McBrien delivered a two-run homer in the seventh
  • COD totaled seven hits
  • Filip Milatovic doubled in the fourth and Jack Wade doubled in the sixth
  • Starter Eddie Scaccia had three strikeouts, four walks in 2 1/3 innings
