Hudson Williams played the game of his early COD career Wednesday, driving in seven runs that included a 3-run homer as the Chaparrals played their best all-round game of the season in a 10-5 win over Division I McHenry County College in Region 4 play.

Williams finished the day 3-for-4 with a pair of runs as COD improved to 7-10 overall heading into Thursday's doubleheader at Elgin. First pitch is at 2 p.m.

- COD's victory was its first over the Scots in five seasons
- RHP Eddie Scaccia set the tone, striking out four in his first eight batters faced
- Scaccia threw 5 innings, striking out five, walking two and allowing six hits, four runs (all earned) for the victory
- Williams put the Chaps on the scoreboard with a two-out, 2-run homer to left that scored Aden Aukland, who reached on a double
- Aukland has now hit four doubles in his last two games
- MCC gained the lead with a three-run fourth and led 4-3 after its half of the fifth
- COD gained momentum for good, scoring five runs on three hits in the fifth
- Vinny Spotofora tied the game at 4-4 on a one-out, bases-loaded single that scored Filip Milatovic (walk)
- Willams cleared the bases with his three-run triple and then scored when Michael Morgan followed on an RBI-double
- Williams added a two-out RBI-single in the sixth, scoring Jack Wade, who led off the inning with a double
- Wade completed the scoring with an RBI-single in the seventh that scored Matt McBrien, who led with a double
- Williams' other RBI was a sac fly to center that scored Aukland in the fourth
- Wade joined Willams with three hits
- Aukland (two doubles), Spotofora and McBrien each had two hits
- MCC opened the day with a 20-8 record and 11-3 in Region 4
