College of DuPage picked up its second sweep in three doubleheaders Wednesday, defeating host Prairie State 6-4 and 3-2 8 innings, in Region 4 softball.

The Chaps improved to 6-9 overall and now prepare for Rock Valley College on Friday. First pitch at Sark Park is 1 p.m.

Chaparrals 6, Prairie State 4

• Down 4-0, COD used a four-run third to tie the game and went ahead for good 5-4 in the fourth
• Raena Del Angel led the Chaps, going 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored
• Yuliana Salgado had a pair of doubles with an RBI
• Taylor Gloms added the Chaps' other extra-base hit (double)
• Danielle Whitman had two hits
• RHP Olivia Terek went the distance, striking out two, issuing five walks and allowing five hits and four runs (three earned)

 
Chaparrals 3, Prairie State 2

• COD totaled 11 hits
• Olivia Terek and Lindsey Onnezi each delivered RBI-singles in the first
• PSC answered with two runs in the first and the team played scorless ball until COD earned the game-winning run in the eighth
• Terek led off with the eighth with a single and Gracie Brucki came in to pinch-run
• Two outs later, Sophia Stevenson reached on an error, scoring Brucki from third
• Gloms went the distance, throwing eight innings and allowing seven hits, two runs (both earned) and striking out two with four walks
• Gloms, Cadee Baker, Salgado, Terek and Whitman each had two hits
• Del Angel supplied COD's only extra-base hit (triple)
