Jack Wade's one-out, RBI-single through the left side of the infield delivered a walk-off 13-12 victory over Region 4 rival Joliet in NJCAA baseball Tuesday afternoon at COD.

The Chaps stretched their season-long winning streak to five games as they take a 12-13 overall record into today's 9-inning game against Triton (10-26).

COD 13, Joliet 12
- COD, which led 10-5 through seven innings, overcame Joliet's two-inning, seven-run rally and found itself down 12-10 entering its half of the ninth
- Michael Morgan led off with a single, and Nic Orr followed with another single
- Hudson Williams secured COD's third straight single, driving in Morgan and COD trailed 12-11
- Quinn Flanagan then tied the game at 12-12 on a 3-2 offering for the fourth straight single
- And two batters later, Wade connected on a first pitch for the walk-off victory
- Jake Pauley went 2-for-3 with a single and a three-run triple in the fourth
- Vinny Spotofora went 2-for-2 and improved his 2024 batting average to an eye-popping .514 (19-for-37)
- Flanagan, Wade and Williams each had two hits
- Starter RHP Mike Biscan gutted a 6-inning effort, striking out three, walking one and allowing 10 hits, five runs (four earned)
- Reliver Michael Tuman threw a 1/3 of an inning and earned the victory with a strikeout
- COD enjoyed a five-run, two-hit fourth inning
- The Chaps earned a 10-5 lead in the seventh after scoring three runs on four hits

COD opened its five-game winning streak with a 10-6 win over Bryant and Stratton in the second game of Saturday's doubleheader.
Jake Pauley went 2-for-4 with three RBI and a home run and
Mark Mennecke added three RBI, thanks to his 2-for-3 effort. Spotofora doubled twice, and Flanagan and Mennecke each tripled.

COD 8-13, Waubonsee 4-8 (Sunday)
In the opener, COD took command with a 4-1 lead through three innings. The Chap tacked on two runs in both the fourth and fifth and held off the Chiefs. Flanagan and Morgan each had three hits and Wade and Pender each drove in two runs. Morgan doubled twice.
A.J. McEneany threw six innings and gave up three runs (all earned) for the victory. The Chaps built a 13-2 lead through four innings and totaled 12 hits for the sweep. Pender highlighted the game with a two-run home run in the second and finished 3-for-3 that included a double with four RBI. Flanagan added a triple and Wade, Spotofora, and
A.J. Fulscher all doubled.
AJ Burnett earned the win, through four innings and
Michael Tuman picked up the save.
COD 14, Triton 11 (Sunday)
The Chaparrals fought back after Triton scored five runs in the first. A six-run fourth inning gave COD a brief 7-5 lead before the Trojans answered with three runs in their fourth. COD scored three runs in the seventh and took the lead for good after trailing 11-10 with a four-run eighth for the 14-11 victory. Fulscher doubled twice and drove in two, and Pauley led with four RBI, while Wade and Aukland also drove in two runs. Tuman got the win with 2/3 of an inning of relief and
Ryne Willard got the save with four strikeouts in two innings.
