COD lacked the big hit in Saturday's doubleheader at Rock Valley, dropping a 6-4 opener and 7-3 in the second.

The Chaps (6-9 overall), who have been plagued with rain-outs over the last month, return to play Tuesday at Joliet, and home Wednesday against McHenry County. Both dates are single, 9-inning games.

Game 1: Rock Valley 6, Chaparrals 4

• Aden Aukland led COD with a 2-run homer in the fourth inning
• Aukland, Jack Wade and Matt McBrien all had two-hit games
• Starter Mark Mennecke threw 3 2/3 innings, striking out two and issuing four walks
• Reliever Ryan Sigale took the loss, allowing four runs in the fourth

Game 2: Rock Valley 7, Chaparrals 3

• Hudson Williams' two-run double in the second cut RVC's lead to 3-2
• No Chaparral had more than one hit
• Michael Morgan delivered an RBI-single in the fifth
• Starter Aidan Pieniazek threw five innings, striking out six, walking three and giving up five hits
• Reliever Jimmy Traficanti struck out one in his one inning
