RHP Aidan Pieniazek gave up one hit over his final seven innings, striking out six in eight innings as College of DuPage pushed its winning streak to eight with a 9-5 victory at College of Lake County in Region 4 baseball Wednesday.
 
The Chaps (24-16, 21-13 Region 4), who have won 17 of their last 20 games, take on visiting Oakton (18-28, 13-26) in a 9-inning game this afternoon. First pitch is 2:30 p.m.
 
Chaparrals 9, Lake County 5

• Lake County scored two runs on three hits and led 2-0 in the first
• Pieniazek (3-4 overall) settled down and kept CLC scoreless over his next seven innings
• His only other hit allowed was a single in the fourth
• No CLC player reached third in Pieniazek's final seven innings
• Hudson Williams extended his hitting streak to 14 games, going 3-for-5
• Williams' 2-run single tied the game at 2-2 in the second
• The Chaps batted around in the third, scoring four runs on three hits
• Filip Miltatovic's two-run triple keyed the third
• Aden Aukland had the Chaps' other extra-base hit, a double in the second
