The Chaparrals climbed back into Thursday night's game at South Suburban, using a 12-0 fourth-quarter run that spurred on COD to a 67-54 Region 4 women's basketball victory.

Abigail Talley's team won for the fourth time in its last five games as its nears the end of regular-season play.
The Chaps take a 14-12 overall record and 14-10 Region 4 slate into Saturday's road game at Madison College (9-15, 8-14). The COD-Madison game is the first of two meetings in six days. The Chaps play host to Harper (1-25, 1-23) on Tuesday before completing the regular season against Madison on Thursday night.
Trailing 31-26 at halftime, COD outplayed the Bulldogs in the second half for the victory. The Chaps cut the deficit to 46-44 entering the final quarter.
"We switched our defenses around,'' said Talley about the fourth-quarter rally. "Our passing improved and we got a lot of effort off the glass.''
Sophomore
Makenna Brown led the way with 15 points and eight rebounds.
Megan Martinez followed with 12 points and Kaisjé Pryor came off the bench for 11 points and four steals.
Talley was pleased with a team total of 21 assists on 24 field goals with reserves
Madison Dubiel (five) and
Cailey Salerno (four) leading the way.
Madeline Maracich led in rebounds with nine and
Nala Taylor had four steals.
SSC fell to 12-14, 11-10.
