COD (8-11, 8-5 Region 4), which has won four straight games and eight of its last 11, travels to Chicago on Tuesday for a nine-inning game at Olive Harvey. The Chaps are home Thursday against Elgin, Friday vs. Rock Valley (DH) and Sunday against Bryant and Stratton (DH).
Chaparrals 12, Moraine Valley 8
- Chaltin's big day included a two-run home run in the second, giving COD a 3-0 lead
- He then added a two-out, three-run double in the seventh, padding COD's lead to 11-6
- Chaltin finished the game 2-for-3 with two runs scored, five RBI, a base on balls and a sacrifice bunt
- Cullen Kleinsasser drilled a leadoff home run to center in the eighth
- Matt McBrien laced a one-out solo shot to center in the seventh
- McBrien, Kleinsasser and Chaltin's HRs were their first of the 2025
- COD totaled 11 hits with seven extra-base hits
- Joining Chaltin with doubles were AJ Fulscher, Anthony Titone and Kleinsasser
- Kleinsasser and McBrien each had multi-RBI games
- Olson (3-1) gave the Chaps seven innings, striking out eight, walking two and scattering six hits, all singles
- RHP Mike Biscan threw two innings of relief, giving up three hits, two runs and striking out one
