COD overpowered visiting Harper in a Region 4 doubleheader Friday, leaving little no doubt in a 17-0 and 11-8 sweep over the Hawks at Sark Park.

The Chaparrals improved to 10-4 overall, 10-4 Region 4 entering Tuesday's home games against Milwaukee Area TC (10-13 overall). First pitch is 3 p.m.

Game 1: Chaparrals 17, Harper 0 5 innings

• COD scored 17 runs on 14 hits and benefitted from seven Harper walks
• Sydney Hurst drove in four runs and added a triple with her two hits and two runs scored
• RHP Addison Brandl dominated in the circle, striking out 11, walking just one and giving up only three hits in her shutout
• Brandl helped her cause at the plate with a triple, one run scored and two hits and three RBI
• Riley O'Neill ripped through two doubles and a pair of RBI
• Earning triples were: Cadee Baker, Julia Colorato and Taniya Jackson
• Baker and Colorato joined Hurst, O'Neill and Brandl with a multi-hit game
• COD led 14-0 after three innings that included a seven-run second and six-run third

Game 2: Chaparrals 11, Harper 8

• After allowing seven runs in the first, COD bounced back with authority in the seven-inning game
• Addison Brandl came on in the first in replacing starter Taylor Gloms
• Brandl threw seven innings, giving up just one run and improving her record to 7-1
• She struck out 13 and 24 batters on the afternoon in 12 innings
• Gloms led the Chaps at the plate, hitting a home run and going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and four RBI
• Raena Del Angel and Riley O'Neill each had three hits
• O'Neill added a double
• Julia Colorato had two hits with a double and a triple
• Cadee Baker added a triple and Jalene Sanchez doubled
• COD scored three runs in the first, one in the second, three in the third and gained the lead with a run in the fourth, 8-7
• The Chaps totaled 15 hits
