Sunday's Region 4 ballgame between the Chaparrals and the McHenry County College Scots ended in seven innings by a score of 24-6 in favor of MCC.
All six of the Chaps' runs were in a fifth-inning rally, but the Scots took advantage early, scoring multiple runs in five straight innings.
Eight different COD players registered hits in the loss, including doubles from
Andrew Hazelton and
Billy Rogus.Â

McHenry County 24, Chaps 6 7 innings
- After a scoreless first inning, McHenry tallied four runs in the second, seven in the third and eight in the fourth
- The Chaps' offense cut into the deficit with its six-run fifth
- Matt McBrien, Cullen Kleinsasser, Joe Pender and Anthony Titone each logged a RBI in the inning with all four securing one hit apiece
- Collin Myers notched his second hit and first run of the season in the inning
- COD's bats manufactured McBrien, Kleinsasser, Titone, Rogus, Myers and AJ Fulscher to each cross home plate one time
- RHP Alex Chaltin (0-1) was charged with the loss after allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on eight hits and four walks in his 2.2 innings while striking out one
- Mike Biscan and Michael Tuman each threw 2/3 of an inning in relief
- Biscan allowed five earned runs on three hits and two walks and Tuman gave up three earned runs on three hits
- Chaltin, Biscan and Tuman each allowed one home run
- Joey Vandermeir threw the final two innings, giving up five earned runs on five hits
