Tuesday's Region 4 home ballgame between the Chaparrals and D2's No. 8 Madison College WolfPack saw the lead change hands several times before the visitors rallied for three runs in the sixth inning and two more in the seventh to secure a 10-6 win.
Jason Sullivan slugged a two-run home run to left field; his seventh of the year; and
Matt McBrien logged two RBI on a single to deep right field.
Joe Pender hit his seventh double of the year.
COD (11-18, 11-12 Region 4) continues a home stretch of games Thursday for a seven-inning doubleheader against Milwaukee Area Technical College (25-16, 15-14) with first pitch scheduled for noon.
Madison 10, Chaps 6
- Sullivan was the lone Chap with two hits, the home run and a single, while reaching base safely in his other two plate appearances by being hit by pitch
- Sullivan stole a base and scored three times, while Pender, John McCabe and Michael Morgan each scored once
- Billy Rogus went 1-for-2 with a single and a sacrifice fly that scored Sullivan
- Cullen Kleinsasser and AJ Fulscher each singled
- Morgan and Anthony Titone both worked a walk
- RHP Porter Olson earned the start, allowing five runs (three earned) on seven hits and five walks while striking out one
- RHP AJ Burnett (0-3) took the loss, allowing three earned runs in 1Â 2/3 innings while striking out two batters
- RHP Luke Kimble threw 2 1/3 innings in relief, allowing two runs (one earned) on a home run
- LHP Oliver Dew struck out three batters in his one inning of relief on the mound
