The road was unkind to the Chaparrals this past weekend after losing 16-5 at Elgin on Friday and then dropping a pair at Bryant and Stratton on Saturday, 7-0 and 6-5.

COD (12-21, 12-13 Region 4) take on South Suburban on Monday. First pitch is 3 p.m.

Elgin 16, Chaparrals 5 7 innings

• Alex Chaltin laced a solo homer to left that capped a three-run third, giving COD a 4-3 lead
• Elgin answered with a five-run third and never relinquished the lead
• Joe Pender added a solo homer in the fifth
• Elgin took command with 17 hits and took advantage of COD's five errors

Game 1: Bryant and Stratton 7, Chaparrals 0

• COD was held to just three hits, all singles in the opener
• John McCabe led COD with a 2-for-3 game
• Alex Chaltin connected on COD's other hit
• The Bobcats scored four run in the first and went on to the victory

Game 2: Bryant and Stratton 6, Chaparrals 5

• Alex Chaltin's RBI double scored Matt McBrie, who led off the game with a walk
• Zach Glidewell and Anthony Titone each earned RBI walks in the first
• Joe Pender earned a fielder's choice RBI in the second
• Chaltin added an RBI-single in the sixth that scored Michael Morgan, who walked
• Matt McBrien joined Chaltin with a multi-hit game
• Reliever Alex Ingram struck out four in four innings
