COD hosted the Harper Hawks for two seven-inning ballgames Saturday but extra innings were needed in both Region 4 contests.
The Chaps (15-23, 15-15 Region 4) dropped Game 1, 14-10, after a six-run Hawks' rally in the eighth, but walked off Game 2 on a ninth-inning wild pitch, 6-5.
COD received 15 free bases by way of a hit by pitch, walk, or error in the first contest and just four times in the second game.
The Chaps host Olive-Harvey for a 2 p.m. ballgame on Sunday.

- COD erupted for four runs on no hits in the first inning
- One more was added in the second, three in the fifth and two in the eighth
- AJ Fulscher, Joe Pender, Jason Sullivan and Anthony Titone were all hit by pitch twice
- Alex Chaltin was plunked once
- Pender and Chaltin both stole two bases with Fulscher adding another
- Matt McBrien hit an RBI single and worked a walk
- Three Chaps — Chaltin, Cullen Kleinsasser and Matthew Betancourt — had sacrifice flies
- Starter RHP Jimmy Traficanti threw five innings, allowing five earned runs on eight hits and three walks while striking out two
- LHP Oliver Dew gave up three earned runs in two innings of relief on four hits and three walks with two strikeouts
- LHP Kyle Boma (0-2) allowed six runs (four earned) in one inning on three hits and two walks, striking out one
