COD wrapped up its regular season Monday afternoon with an impressive 11-3 and 15-2 sweep over visiting McHenry County in Region 4 softball.

The Chaparrals (23-15, 23-15 Region 4) take on Joliet JC for the Region 4 Division III title Friday in a best two-of-three. Two games will be played at COD's Sark Park and an if-necessary game will be played at noon Saturday.

Congratulations sophomores
The Chaparrals' nine sophomores — Addison Brandl, Gracie Brucki, Danielle Whitman, Raena Del Angel, Cadee Baker, Taylor Gloms, Jalene Sanchez, Maddison Leftridge, and Alyssa Elizondo — played in their final regular season home games.

Game 1: Chaparrals 11, McHenry County 3 5 innings

• Taylor Gloms went 3-for-4 with four RBI, a home run and a double to pace the Chaps' offense
• She now has five HRs for the season
• Cadee Baker had two doubles, her eighth and ninth of the season
• COD scored three runs in the first, four in the second and capped the day with three in the fifth to walk off with the win
• Julia Colorato had a triple and was 2-for-4 with two RBI
• Alyssa Dubinski earned the win, striking out three and scattering seven hits

Game 2: Chaparrals 15, McHenry County 2 5 innings

• COD struck with 10 runs in the first inning
• Raena Del Angel delivered a grand slam in the first
• Alyssa Elizondo had a double and was 2-for-3
• Jalene Sanchez, Julia Colorato, Riley O'Neill and Danielle Whitman all had two RBI
• Danielle Whitman went 3-for3
• Sofia Kasper had two hits in three at-bats
• Taylor Gloms struck out seven in her five innings for the win
