The par-71 Wedgewood Golf Club gave the College of DuPage men's golf team an opportunity to showcase its potential at the St. Francis Fall Classic on Sept. 9.
The highlight of the day came from
Jack Boehmke, who battled to a top-10 finish, tying for ninth with a 74 (+3). The rest of the Chaps' lineup also contributed.
Patrick Davis carded a 77,
Matthew Sims finished with a 78, and
Patrick Malm shot a 79. The combined effort secured COD a spot in the top six.
The Chaps also showed depth in individual play.
Devin Cabello (75) and
Ben Holcombe (76) placed inside the top 20, while
Jake Rzeszutek added a 79.
"It was nice to see their efforts paying off," head coach
Jason Hyatt said. "This was a perfect course to get us moving in the right direction."
Hyatt credited his team's patience and hard work as keys to early-season progress.
The Chaps will return to action Sept. 23 at the Clash at the Creek in Joliet, Illinois.
