The College of DuPage men's golf team competed in the Clash at the Creek, hosted by Joliet Junior College on Sept. 23 at Nettle Creek Country Club.
The Chaparrals finished in a tie for 7th place out of 15 teams on the par-71 course.
Matthew Sims led the way for COD with a 77, placing 16th overall out of 79 individual golders.
Patrick Davis followed with a 79 to place 26th.
Jack Boehmke,
Patrick Malm, and
Kyrin Abella each carded rounds of 82, tying for 43rd. Two additional Chaps competed as individuals, with
Devin Cabello and
Jake Rzeszutek each shooting 80.
"Today was a battle for the team," head coach
Jason Hyatt said. "We are making progress, our high scores are getting lower, but we are leaving a lot of shots there. We need to get off to a better start and be a little smarter with some course management decisions. Overall, we are getting better, and with time, we will be where we want to be."
DuPage will continue with fall schedule Sept. 30 at St. Andrews Golf Club in Lisle for an invitational hosted by Benedictine Unversity.
