The College of DuPage women's basketball team was defeated by Madison College on January 22, 89-48.
After trailing by twenty points to begin the second quarter, the Chaps put together their best quarter of the night, scoring 17 points. A 7-point run highlighted the effort, sparked by Ayanni Gusman's three-pointer and layup, along with a layup from
Jamie Hasemann.
Midway through the second, the Wolfpack continued to pull away. Gusman led DuPage with 13 points, followed by
Erin Brown with 12, and
Lexi Lopez with 8. Brown also led the team on the boards with 9 rebounds. On the defensive end, Salerno and Lopez each contributed two steals.
The Chaps will look to bounce back on the road against Oakton College on January 24 in Des Plaines. This marks the second matchup of the season between the Owls and the Chaps, with Oakton taking the first meeting 83-64.
