The College of DuPage softball team opened the 2026 season at the Rosemont Dome, splitting the day with a 10-0 loss to Waubonsee before bouncing back with a 19-11 win over Elgin.
In game one,
Isabella Andrade got the start in the circle, allowing five runs over 2.2 innings.
Alyssa Valencik worked 4.1 innings in relief.
Julia Colorato,
Brenna Berkowitz, and
Lana Edkin each recorded a hit.
The bats exploded in game two as DuPage collected 21 hits in a 19-11 win over Elgin.
Juliana Covington went a perfect 4-for-4, tripling, doubling, and adding two singles.
Ximena Banuelos, Edkin, and
Liliana Davis each drove in three runs. The Chaps scored nine runs in the first inning and added six more in the third to take control.

Olivia Vasak all recorded multiple hits as DuPage earned the split.
