The College of DuPage baseball team won its second straight game in extra innings in Elgin on March 25, defeating Elgin Community College 12-9. The Chaparrals stormed out to an 8-2 lead through five innings, but the Spartans rallied to tie the game at 8-8 in the bottom of the sixth. The contest remained deadlocked until DuPage plated four runs in the top of the 10th, then held off Elgin to secure the victory.
Wilson Terrutty went 4-for-6 at the plate, including a home run, and drove in six RBI. Devin Kraft also finished 4-for-6 with one RBI. Hudson Williams recorded three hits in five at-bats and added an RBI, while Nick Konopiots chipped in two hits and one RBI.
JB Wies earned the win for DuPage, tossing three innings and striking out three. Porter Olson also saw action on the mound, recording five strikeouts over three innings pitched.
DuPage returns home on March 27 to host the College of Lake County.
