The College of DuPage softball team traveled to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for a slate of neutral-site contests over the next few days.
The Chaparrals opened the trip on a positive note, edging Delta College 4-3 after taking a late lead on March 5.

Isabella Andrade was strong in relief, pitching 4â…” innings while allowing just three hits and no runs. She struck out five and walked one.
Forsberg, Brenna Berkowitz, and Plzak each collected two hits for the Chaparrals. Forsberg and Heredia drove in a run apiece, while Berkowitz added two stolen bases as DuPage swiped four bases in the game.
In the second game of the day, DuPage fell to Shawnee Community College 13-4.
The Chaps jumped out early in the top of the first when Julia Colorato reached on a fielder's choice that scored a run, followed by an inside-the-park home run from Forsberg that plated two more.
Forsberg led the team with two RBIs, finishing 1-for-2 at the plate. Covington added two hits in two at-bats.
DuPage is scheduled to play two more games tomorrow, beginning with a rematch against Delta before facing Caldwell.
