The College of DuPage softball team continued their Myrtle Beach trip over the weekend, dropping two games on March 6 before bouncing back with two dominant wins on March 7.
DuPage opened March 6 with a rematch against Delta College, who the Chaps defeated 4-3 on March 5. Delta would return the favor, shutting out DuPage 3-0. The Chaps drew five walks and stole three bases, while Alyssa Valencik recorded five strikeouts in the circle.
In the second game of the day, DuPage fell to Caldwell Tech 8-5. The Chaps outhit Caldwell 11-9 but could not overcome the deficit, finishing the day 0-2.
DuPage rebounded on March 7 with an offensive explosion, defeating Kaskaskia College 12-3 behind a 13-hit performance.
Brenna Berkowitz and Ava Forsberg each went 3-for-4 at the plate. Julia Colorato added two hits, while Ashley Plzak and Olivia Vasak also recorded two hits apiece and combined for five RBIs. Valencik pitched six innings and struck out four.
To close out the weekend, the Chaps continued their hot hitting in a 13-2 victory over Minnesota North College Rainy River. DuPage scored 10 runs in the first inning and finished with 11 hits in the win.
Ten different players recorded a hit for the Chaps, while eight drove in runs. Isabella Andrade pitched all five innings for DuPage, striking out seven.
