The Wheaton native was an honorable mention All-American in 1983 after leading the Chaps to an N4C title and Region 4 runner-up finish, Kaminsky remains COD’s all-time leader in career assists and in the top 10 in free throws. He finished his collegiate career on scholarship at Grand Valley (Mich.) State. He recently completed his 35th year of coaching college men’s basketball and has collected more than 500 career victories at Mid-State (Wis.) Technical College, University of Wisconsin-Superior, Valley City (N.D.) State University and currently at NCAA Division II member Wayne (Neb.) State College. He is an eight-time coach of the year recipient and at each stop, has built struggling programs into nationally-ranked teams.
