Hall of Fame
Kent Pearson, a Glen Ellyn native, competed for Hall of Famer coach Al Zamsky’s swim teams (1974-75), earning three All-American honors after winning national titles in the 500 freestyle and 200 freestyle, and earning runner-up honors in the 1,650 freestyle in 1975. He was COD’s most outstanding student-athlete that same season. He continued his swimming career at the University of Iowa (1976-77), where he competed for the Hawkeyes, and then served as a graduate assistant coach. He coached high school and club swimming in St. Charles, winning boys state titles from 1982-86.
